About the Project

Loyalist Township will be completing major infrastructure to the Windermere Boulevard intersection area starting this Month.

Scope of Work

The 2026 construction program will include:

• Installation of a new signalized intersection at Windermere Boulevard
• Road reconstruction
• Watermain replacement
• Storm sewer and sanitary sewer reconstruction
• New sidewalks on the south side of Main Street
• A new multi-use pathway on the north side of Main Street
• Drainage improvements, including curb and gutter

Construction Schedule

K. Mulrooney Trucking Ltd. has been contracted by Loyalist Township to complete the work.

Construction is anticipated to occur from approximately May 11, 2026 through Novemeber 2026.

Traffic and Access Impacts

During construction, residents can expect:

• Lane shifts
• Temporary gravel driving surfaces
• Flag persons directing traffic
• Delays and reduced traffic speeds

Two lanes of traffic will be maintained overnight whenever possible. Residents are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow additional travel time during construction.

Access to Windermere drive from main street will be closed.

The Contractor will maintain access to homes and businesses whenever feasible; however, temporary driveway disruptions may occasionally occur. If access interruptions are necessary, affected residents will be contacted directly in advance to coordinate accommodations.

Residents are also asked to refrain from parking near active construction zones during working hours to help crews complete the work safely and efficiently. On certain days, driveway access and parking may be temporarily unavailable, but alternate street parking will be available. Advance notice will be provided to impacted residents.

Water and Sewer Services

The project includes replacement of watermain, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer infrastructure, along with new service connections to property lines.

Occasional water service interruptions will be required to complete infrastructure connections. Residents will receive advance notice prior to any planned shutdowns.

Garbage and Recycling Collection

Please place garbage and recycling curbside before 7:00 a.m. on collection days.

During periods where access is restricted, construction crews will relocate bins to designated collection points and return them following pickup. Residents are asked to clearly label all bins with their municipal address to assist with this process.

Accessibility

K. Mulrooney Trucking Ltd. complies with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). Residents with accessibility concerns or special accommodation needs are encouraged to contact the Contractor prior to or during construction so efforts can be made to minimize disruptions.

Communication During Construction

Loyalist Township is committed to minimizing impacts to residents and businesses throughout construction. Township representatives will regularly be onsite and available to answer questions or address concerns.
