On June 10th, Council received a report advising that a confidential Donor wishes to build a skate park and pump track in Amherstview. Council directed staff to move forward with this project in Loyalist Park. We’re beyond grateful for the support that’s making this possible!

The construction of the pump track and skate park is estimated to cost approximately $1,000,000. Thanks to the generous support of an anonymous donor, construction on Phase One of the project is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026.

Summary of Feedback - Consultation Phase 1

From June through early July 2025, Loyalist Township conducted both in-person engagement and an online survey to gather community feedback on the proposed Loyalist Park All Wheel Park. This combined approach helped ensure input from a wide range of local residents, riders, and stakeholders. In total, 148 participants contributed feedback, the majority from Amherstview residents representing a mix of beginner, intermediate, and advanced riding abilities.

The Pump Track was identified as the top community priority, with a clear preference for Double Track layouts that provide flow, line variety, and accessibility for multiple rider types.

In terms of Skatepark Typologies, Transition and Flow Terrain was favored by 75% of respondents, with particular interest in Open Flow features and Organic Flow that support continuous movement and creativity. Preferences for Street Terrain were evenly divided between Technical Street and Flowing Street styles, with respondents highlighting Terraced Manual Pads, Ledges, and Funbox/Pyramid setups as key features to include.

When asked about specific Pump Track Features, Rollers were the most popular, followed by Double Bumps/Jumps and Pockets.

Community members also emphasized the importance of Supporting Amenities such as shade structures, seating areas, water fountains, and local artwork to create a public space that is both functional and welcoming for riders, families, and spectators alike.

This feedback will guide the Loyalist Park All Wheel Park design process, ensuring a thoughtful balance of varied terrain for all skill levels, rider flow, and community amenities. The goal is to create a facility that not only serves as an active recreation space but also as a valued gathering place for the community.
