About the Project

Loyalist Township is actively exploring ways to enhance its public transit service to better meet the needs of its residents. The Township has conducted public surveys, and participated in comprehensive studies to identify key areas for improvement, such as expanding and optimizing routes. Loyalist Township is excited to announce the launch of Loyalist Link, a new transit service pilot set to commence on November 4th. This initiative aims to enhance transportation options for residents of additional communities in the Township including Bath, Odessa, and the Amherst Island Ferry Terminal in Millhaven. The service will also provide a vital public transportation link to workplaces in the Taylor-Kidd Industrial Park and the Loyalist East Business Park.

This initiative is being funded in part through a $192,000 Community Transportation Grant from the Province's Community Connection Funding through Lennox and Addington County and Provincial Gas Tax funding. The new transit service will operate on a fixed route designed to connect locations in Loyalist Township to the City of Kingston via the Gardiners Town Centre in Kingston and to the Cataraqui Town Centre via the Route 10 bus in Amherstview.

The pilot program will enable residents to conveniently access essential services and employment opportunities, improving mobility within our community. Users will benefit from the ability to utilize Kingston Transit Fare Passes.
