About the Project

Loyalist Township is starting the process to upgrade infrastructure in central Amherstview. The project area includes Littlefield Road, Huff Avenue, Westran Road, Havergal Avenue, Asbury Road, and Rothwell Avenue. This will be a multi-year construction project, with preliminary work beginning in the spring of 2026. The project is expected to occur in phases, subject to budget approval.

The overall scope of the project includes:

  • Road and curb reconstruction
  • Watermain relining, or replacement
  • Upgrades to the active transportation network.

Additional improvements may be added during the design work, and could include:

  • Replacement, installation, and/or repair of storm and sanitary sewers
  • Right-of-way drainage improvements.

Residents may see surveyors and underground utility locators in the neighbourhood, as well as geotechnical investigations such as boreholes in the road right-of-way. The information we gather through these investigations will help us finalize the design of the upgrades.
